Michelle Medley
Registered Dental Hygienist

Did you know that the American Dental Association estimates 80% of the U.S. population has some form of periodontal disease? Just ask Hygienist Michelle Medley. Periodontal diagnosis, management and treatment are her areas of specialty.

• Michelle graduated from Rose State College in 1999 where she received the Golden Scaler Award of Excellence. 
• She is married to Keith Medley, an Oklahoma City police officer. Mother of two (Faith and Max).
• Michelle serves on the faculty of the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry where she teaches future dentists about periodontal diagnosis, management and treatment. 

Katie Smith
Registered Dental Hygienist

Are you aware of the multiple negative effects poor dental hygiene can have on your overall health? Dental Hygienist Katie Smith will love bringing you up to speed on these details while she also makes each appointment fun for you.

• Katie graduated from the Wichita State University in 2001 where she was respected by faculty and fellow students as particularly gifted in clinical skills.
• In 2002 she married Josh Smith, an Edmond police officer. They have two children: Bella and Beau.
• Katie is eager to embrace new technology for patient diagnosis, education and treatment.

Assistants

When Dr. Griffin has everything they need to stay focused on your positive experience, you certainly reap the reward. Clinical Assistants Sharon Woods, LeaAnn Byford and Becky Lawton not only make that possible, but they become another trusted professional on the team now known by many patients as friends.

 

Sharon Woods
Clinical Assistant

Dr. Griffin’s first employee, Sharon is gifted in her ability to reach out to patients and learn about them. The relationship starts immediately and makes a difference for everyone.  Especially nervous patients have reported finding immediate comfort in Sharon’s receptive nature. This friendly, chocolate-loving Mary Kay consultant is married to Preston and is the proud mother of Candace. They also have two puppies named Rudy and Remy.

 

LeaAnn Byford
Clinical Assistant

With more than two decades of clinical expertise, all in comprehensive, patient-focused practices, LeaAnn is invaluable to the Griffin Smiles team. Her belief that the patient always comes first is evident in every aspect of her strong work ethic. This sports enthusiast and mother of four still finds time to cheer for her favorite teams.

 

Becky Lawton
Clinical Assistant

Becky is especially talented with design and all things esthetic. With the most diverse background on the clinical team, she has years of experience working with children in a pediatric dental office. She and her husband, Ben, have two pugs named Betsy and Chloe.

 

Coordinators

Not every practice has coordinators focusing on treatment, scheduling and insurance, but Dr. Griffin knows these roles are important for patients to truly have a positive dental experience. Jamie Atchison, Lynne Chamberlain and Lori Case turn patients into raving fans of Griffin Smiles Comprehensive Dentistry, each in their own way.

 

Jamie Atchison
Treatment Coordinator

With a strong sense of community, Edmond Native Jamie sees each case to its fulfillment and makes sure patients get the treatment they need and deserve. She is known for making dentistry affordable and available for patients, regardless of their specific circumstance. Jamie and her husband Jeff are the proud parents of Ayren. 

 

Lynne Chamberlain
Scheduling Coordinator

With an unwavering smile and a welcoming heart, Lynne keeps patients coming back in spite of busy schedules and other complications in a hectic life. Her friendly voice and business know-how help patients feel confident in their positive experience from the first telephone call. Lynne’s pride is her pack: Husband Dennis; Son Ben and Daughter-in-Law “the lovely Jessica;” Son Adam; and Daughter Carleigh. “In our home there is nothing but unconditional love,” she says.

 

Lori Case
Insurance Coordinator

Lori has a strong background and understanding of the complexities of your dental insurance and she is committed to your maximizing our dental benefits. She helps new patients as they enter their new dental home and supports on-going insurance management. She has two daughters, Anna and Madisyn.
